Postdoctoral Fellow Dr. Yael Teff-Seker and Asst. Professor Michelle Portman graduated Rhodes Oceans Academy’s Ocean Policy and Law course (June 29th-July 18th, 2014). The course covers UN Convention on the Law of the Sea, International Maritime Organization institutions and implementing agreements, history of maritime law and policy, an overview of hydrography for jurisdictional claims, arbitration and more. Topics addressed in the course are relevant for the establishment and implementation of marine protected areas and ocean conversation planning and management.
