At the Annual Science Conference of the International Council for Exploration of the Sea, (ICES) held in September, 2013 in Reykjavik, Iceland, Dr. Portman presented her work on integrated marine spatial planning. Using a system of ‘quandrant analysis’ the work presents a framework for evaluating the level of integration that can be achieved by marine spatial plans and programs.
